The Female Planet at Big Book Festival

Author Kristina Stoltz took part in discussions about “The Female Planet” at Big Book Festival

From June 22nd-24th the Big Book Festival took place in Warsaw. One event from the festival’s packed program was “The female planet”, where 10 female European authors gathered for a roundtable discussion on what would change if women ruled the world.

For this event DCI in Poland invited the Danish author Kristina Stoltz to take part in the discussion, contributing with her professional and personal insights on the topic. Stoltz had her debut as an author in 2000 and has since published poems, novels, tales and children’s books. Further she is the head of the writer’s course at Johan Borups Højskole in Copenhagen and an ongoing contributor to the Norwegian newspaper Klassekampen.

Big Book Festival is one of Poland‘s biggest and most innovative festivals of reading and arts. It takes place every June and lasts throughout a weekend where it brings together authors from 20 different countries. The festival is set outside and is thus a unique merge of urban space, literature and people and provides new ways of experiencing literature.

Big Book Festival is run by „Kultura nie boli“ Foundation – an NGO which promotes the culture of reading. It is created in partnership with over 40 institutions and companies and co-funded by the readers.

The project was financed with support from The Danish Arts Foundation (Statens Kunstfond).
