What Does it Mean to Be a Dad in China Nowadays?

On the last Sunday of the exhibition ‘Dads’, which has been on display in Danish Cultural Center in Beijing since 23. November, Chinese families were invited to a debate arrangement in the afternoon about fatherhood.
7 Chinese fathers with completely different backgrounds and positions gave their personal stories on the joyous and challenging experience of being a father.

Moderators for the debate were Architect Chen Shuyu from Institute for Provocation, and Tiange Bing, who is the founder of Beijing Paper Tiger Theater Studio.

Messages on Fatherhood

During the display of the exhibition all visitors have been encouraged to give a message about their own relationship with their fathers and post the text on the wall of the Cultural Centre. The result of the activity is a collage of both loving and tough messages. In common for all the messages is, that they are honest and straight forward descriptions of family destinies in all of it’s aspects.

Last day of the exhibition in Danish Cultural Center were Sunday 11 December, 2016.
