JazzCamp for Girls
Over four days in Kolkata, Danish and Indian musicians created a safe and supportive learning environment where young girls were encouraged to explore instrumental music and take to the stage. Through workshops in composition, improvisation, and ensemble playing, students from New Town School and Future Hope School worked to develop their own musical expression while strengthening a sense of community through music.
The initiative formed part of Jazz Denmark’s international JazzCamp for Girls format and was developed in collaboration with Danish Cultural Institute, MetaArts, and Kolkata JazzFest. The project aimed to open doors for new voices in music, provide young girls with hands-on experience of instrumental music, and nurture their creative potential.
