Cultural first aid

Danish Cultural Institute has developed the Cultural First Aid Kit, a workshop concept and conversation starter on cultural resilience in a time marked by crisis and conflict. Developed by the Institute’s Baltic Sea Region office, the concept highlights the role of culture in relation to security and preparedness.

The First Aid Kit includes a range of interactive elements, including a “prescription pad”, through which participants can prescribe cultural practices for themselves and others, as well as features such as “CultureKraut”, which uses humour to illustrate the need for a daily cultural supplement.

Through workshops, the concept invites reflection, dialogue, and collective action. It has been tested on several occasions in Denmark and the Baltic states.
