WISE opens in 798 Art District Beijing
On 18-19 May WISE gathers a select group of Chinese and international thinkers, artists and professionals across industries (music, film, entertainment, business, media, science, and technology) for a second edition and to once again give you a toolkit to wise up.
Danish Cultural Center in Beijing is partner this years edition together with Ullen Center of Contemporary Art (UCCA).
GET WISER
During the day, the WISE conference takes place at UCCA, China´s leading contemporary art museum and in the evening of both days WISE invites the Reeperbahn Festival, the main European music platform for international and transcultural exchange, to host music showcases in Danish Cultural Center in 798 and will provide an opportunity for chinese band to reach international music industry professionals.
Showcasing of musical talent
So this time WISE is not only a platform for big ideas as well as practical knowledge but also serves for showcasing some of the most promising musical talent around. Through the exchange program with Reeperbahn Festival, 15 European delegates at the crossroads of music & technology will also participate at WISE.
Last year´s WISE drew a select group of 400 delegates and influencers, as well as leaders from various industries from 10 countries to discuss crossborder collaborations and future visions.
WISE topics 2019
As last year WISE puts “the human” at the center of discussions ranging from technology, music, art, fashion, entertainment, business, media, and science.
The story of AI continues and one doesn´t yet know, if the algorithms and the ongoing digitalization “de-humanizes” us humans, or if WE successfully humanize the machines & algorithms.
As the boundaries between humans & machines become more and more blurry, we have to ask ourselves: What makes us special in the first place? And can we keep that edge or will be soon slaves to the machines (if we aren´t already)?
Apart from these rather existential questions, we will also discuss the newest trends in the various creative industries and how technology is disrupting those, talk about future economies, new emerging orders, culture in business, the future of gender parity, and the music industry.
At WISE you will learn how algorithms can read your emotions, listen to music being played by gloves, find out about the side effects of digitalization, hear about new AI initiatives, and have the opportunity to mingle with some of the brightest minds in a fun and inspiring atmosphere.
