During “German Week 2019“ in St. Petersburg, the responsibility of media is the theme of a debate between Elke Schmitter (Germany), Adam Holm (Denmark). The debate will be moderated by Günther Hasenkamp, director of the Goethe Institute in St. Petersburg
How can journalism remain truthful? What is the role of editorial media in the era of social media? These are some of the questions for the German author and Der Spiegel journalist Elke Schmitter and the Danish journalist, tv and radio host Adam Holm.
Elke Schmitter – author of “Mrs. Sartoris” and other novels, essays and poetry. One of her latest publications is ”Was tun – Demokratie versteht sich nicht von selbst” (English title: “Democracy on the Line – What do we do?”).
Adam Holm – Danish journalist, TV and radio host, and a writer. He wrote his dissertation (PhD) on the topic of right-wing radicalism. Presently his book about Syrian President Bashar Assad is being prepared for publication.
