The film, Bonbibi: Guardian of the Mangrove Forest, produced by Perlefilm, shares the children’s own stories about climate change, the forest goddess Bonbibi, and the relationship between people and nature, drawing on their lives and perspectives from the world’s largest mangrove forest in the Sundarbans delta. Through a series of workshops, the children took part in developing the film’s universe by creating stop-motion characters and sets and photographing them frame by frame until the story came together as a finished film.
Seeing your own ideas transformed into moving images is something truly special. Here, you can catch a glimpse of the screening and the reactions of the children who helped bring the story to life.
