Madam Bach in Türkiye

In November 2024, Danish Cultural Institute contributed to promoting mental health among children in the earthquake-affected Southeastern Anatolia and in Istanbul through the project “Common Language of Art” as part of the Atta Festival.

The theatre company Madam Bach performed the play Bloom for children aged 3–6 in the cities of Hatay, Kahramanmaraş, and Diyarbakır, before continuing on to Istanbul. The performance created a sensory and interactive universe where children, through music, movement, and play, built habitats for insects, birds, and other animals. After each performance, the children took part in creative workshops that allowed them to explore the themes of the play through artistic expression.

The project provided access to cultural experiences for children in particularly vulnerable areas and demonstrated how culture can foster community, hope, and creativity as an essential part of mental health and well-being.
