Çanakkale Biennial / Kirstine Roepstorff

The 9th edition of the Çanakkale Biennale in Türkiye focused on ‘Youth Culture and the Art-Technology Connection,’ exploring how technological development affects visual culture and artistic boundaries. The Biennale addressed how young people are creating new ways of understanding and shaping urban spaces through technology.

The exhibitions showed how digital tools, gaming culture, and communication platforms are helping to define contemporary urban life and youth culture. Danish Cultural Institute Türkiye collaborated on Kirstine Roepstorff’s art piece “Through the Mosaic Eye” in the Çanakkale region (Adatepe), which showed how art can challenge and expand the visual landscape of the city.

Danish Cultural Institute Türkiye also supported video installations by Jane Jin Kaisen that gave an insight into how technological perspectives can transform the understanding of urban spaces.
