Cultural Summit 2026

At the Cultural Summit 2026, three days of discussions focused on cultural resilience, strengthening Nordic-Baltic cultural cooperation, the conditions for arts and culture in times of war, and the role of culture in societal preparedness and security policy.

Among the contributors were Minister for Culture Zenia Stampe, Merete Lange and Rane Willerslev from the National Museum of Denmark, foreign affairs spokesperson Flemming Møller Mortensen (Social Democrats), Lars Barfoed from the Danish Association Norden, Lise Bach Hansen from Nord 55, Albert Saprykin, Kateryna Alymova, and Les Vynogradow from Kyiv Contemporary Music Days, Claus K. Jensen from the Danish Museums Association (ODM), Denmark’s first female brigadier general Lone Træholt, and Madeleine Kate McGowan from NXT Bureau.

The sessions were moderated by Moussa Mchangama from In Futurum, Clement Behrendt Kjersgaard, Juliana Hodkinson from the Danish Composers’ Society, and Jacob Teglgaard from the Danish Institute for Cultural Analysis.

Danish Cultural Institute was represented by Regional Directors Anna Enemark, who heads the Institute’s activities in Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania, and Henriette Borg Reinholdt, who oversees all activities in the EU’s Eastern Neighbourhood, including Ukraine.

Danish Cultural Institute would also like to thank Norden i Fokus, Nordic Culture Point, the Nordic Council of Ministers, the Danish Association Norden, the Danish Composers’ Society, and the Danish Institute for Cultural Analysis for inviting us to contribute to these conversations.

Once again, the Cultural Summit provided an important platform for timely and relevant discussions on the role of culture in a changing world. We look forward to continuing these conversations on Mors next year.
