Cultural Festival in Poti
In the summer of 2026, we held a cultural festival in the Georgian port city of Poti. The festival in Poti is the first of seven cultural festivals organised by the Danish Cultural Institute as part of the Creative Compass Georgia programme.
The festival in Poti featured a diverse program of workshops, lectures, concerts, film screenings, karaoke, a marketplace, and artistic encounters across generations, nationalities, and disciplines. Danish photographer Sarah Liisborg led a masterclass in visual storytelling. In total, more than 15 local artists and cultural practitioners participated.
The festivals are part of the Creative Compass Georgia program, a four-year EU-funded project implemented and co-financed by the Goethe-Institut. The program’s primary goal is to strengthen the cultural and creative industries in Georgia’s regions outside Tbilisi by creating new opportunities, building competencies, and promoting the exchange of experience and knowledge. The Danish Cultural Institute is the implementing partner for the project.
