Sound Artists from Riga and Aarhus reunite

A group of sound artists from Poland and Denmark will meet for the second time May 27 to create music experiments.

This time the meeting will take place in Aarhus, when three artists from Riga will participate in a two-days workshop in collaboration with their three Danish partners. During the visit the group will experiment with the music’ composition and sound design and will present the final result at the concert at Radar 19:00 27 May.

The concert will be a continuum of the exchange program, which was initiated in February when the Danish artists visited Riga. The venue Aristids provided the physical framework for the creative encounter and was transformed into a sonic Exploratorium. The artists embarked on their artistic journey at Aristids and will continue this line of work when they all meet up in Aarhus. The result will be showcased at the final concert and later on in the year during Aarhus 2017 (as European capital of culture).

This cultural exchange project aims towards creating strong co-operations transnationally, which will generate new ideas and concepts. The aim is not to merely exchange programs and encounter each other’s artistic origin of site. The aim is to reach the center of mutual values and construct new material based on this equality.
