Children’s Culture Festival in Pacanów 2017: The Danish Edition

The 15th edition of The Children’s Culture Festival in Pacanow will take place from June 2nd to June 4th 2017. It is an event made not only for but also by children. The festival shows works of 500 young artists performing in front of 20.000 spectators. The festival’s programme consists of contests, concerts, performances, parade and workshops. This year, Denmark is getting special attention with a series of Danish participants.

One of the Danish contributions to the programme is a performance of a folk ensemble consisting of the two talented musicians, Bjarne Grue on the accordion and Michael S. on the clarinet, as well as the folk dancers Susanne and Vill Plesner-Petersen. The musical duo has broad experience playing folk music, and Susanne and Vill have been rewarded several times in the Danish folk dance championships.

During the festival, Danish bookbinder, Iben Andersen, will also run a bookbinding workshop for children.

Other Danish accents in the festival programme are an exhibition of “Hans Christian Andersen’s Fairy Tales in Polish Book Illustrations” as well as Danish films for children and youth.

Danish Cultural Institute is a partner in the festival.
