Carsten Jensen at BOZAR in Brussels

Wednesday 24th October, Carsten Jensen will pay his ever first visit to BOZAR in Brussels to read from and discuss his work ‘The First Stone’ (DA: ‘Den første sten’) as well as his critical authorship.

Carsten Jensen is considered one of Denmark’s greatest living authors. He shot to international fame with his novel ‘We, the drowned’ (2006) and has travelled to Afghanistan on several occasions over the past forty years. His experiences fed into the monumental war novel ‘The First Stone’ about a group of Danish soldiers in a military camp in Afghanistan. Jensen will discuss his life and work during an exclusive talk with moderator Gie Goris, editor in chief of MO* Magazine at BOZAR in Brussels.

Not afraid to take a stand raise debate, Jensen is the author of several critical essays, features, portrayals and travel descriptions – fiction as well as non-fiction with a satirical twist, all of those based on personal experiences.

‘The First Stone’ has recently been translated into French (Phébus, 2017) and Dutch (De Bezige Bij, 2018).
